ISLE OF MAN - Peel

Thanks James for my third card from Isle of Man.


"Peel is situated on the west coast of the Isle of Man, on the east side of the mouth of the River Neb. To the north west is St Patrick's Isle, connected to the mainland by a causeway, and to the west across the river is Peel Hill.  It is the third largest town on the island after Douglas and Ramsey but the fourth largest settlement, as Onchan has the second largest population but is classified as a village."

KUWAIT - Sunset At The Dhow Harbor

My second card from Huda, thank you.


"Located behind Kuwait City's Scientific Complex, this harbour is best known for the well-preserved wooden boat (dhow) docked in its waters. The dhow boats were traditionally used by pearl divers before the rise of the oil industry. The Bringer of Good Fortune (Fateh el Kheir) boat is a must-see for those interested in the Kuwaiti way of life before the modern political age."

From Kuwait, this card was mailed on 4 Feb 2015 and arrived in my mailbox today and only took 21 days to traveled.  Thank you Huda for the nice card and stamps.



FRENCH POLYNESIA - Huahine Island

"Huahine is an island located among the Society Islands, in French Polynesia, an overseas territory of France in the Pacific Ocean. It is part of the Leeward Islands group (Îles sous le Vent). The island has a population of about 6,300

Huahine measures 16 km in length, with a maximum width of 13 km. It is made up of two main islands surrounded by a fringing coral reef with several islets, or motu. Huahine Nui (Big Huahine) lies to the north and Huahine Iti (Little Huahine) to the south. The two islands are separated by a few hundred yards of water and joined by a sandspit at low tide. A small bridge was built to connect Huahine Nui and Huahine Iti."


AUSTRIA - Vienna

Thank you to Sava who travel to Vienna and sent me this nice card and great stamp.


Vienna is the capital and largest city of Austria, and one of the nine states of Austria. Vienna is Austria's primary city, with a population of about 1.794 million (2.6 million within the metropolitan area, more than 20% of Austria's population), and its cultural, economic, and political centre. It is the 7th-largest city by population within city limits in the European Union."


CHILE - Valparaiso

The card shows The Artilleria hill lift was inaugurated in 1893 and still transports visitors up adn down the hill of the same name. Ximena explain very well about the city, thank you.


A beautiful stamps from Chile unfortunately do not have any cancellation.

BERMUDA - The Islands of Bermuda

Country #133 is from Bermuda.  Thank you Bermuda for the nice Bermuda mapcard, in her card she wrote that her favorite thing about this mapcard is the shape of the island - it looks like a fish hook and I couldn't agree more.


Bermuda used 2 stamps on her card, on the left is a shells in a set 18 in 2002 and card was sent from Hamilton. More information on Bermuda postage please view here.

GERMANY - Holsten Gate, Lubeck



"The Holsten Gate is a city gate marking off the western boundary of the old center of the Hanseatic city of Lübeck. This Brick Gothic construction is one of the relics of Lübeck’s medieval city fortifications and the only remaining city gate, except for the Citadel Gate ("Burgtor"). Because its two round towers and arched entrance are so well known it is regarded today as a symbol of this German city, and together with the old city centre (Altstadt) of Lübeck it has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987. Holstentor was built in 1464."
