The dream of connecting San Francisco to its northern neighbors became a reality when construction commenced in 1933. Given the chance for steady employment amid the Great Depression, construction crews braved treacherous conditions as the roadway and towers took shape over open water. Acapulco is located on a deep, semicircular bay and has been a port since the early colonial period of Mexico's history.  It is a port of call for shipping and cruise lines running between Panama and San Francisco, California, United States. The city of Acapulco is the largest in the state, far larger than the state capital Chilpancingo. Acapulco is also Mexico's largest beach and balneario resort city."

CHINA - Great Wall of China

"The Great Wall of China is a series of fortifications made of stone, brick, tamped earth, wood, and other materials, generally built along an east-to-west line across the historical northern borders of China to protect the Chinese states and empires against the raids and invasions of the various nomadic groups of the Eurasian Steppe with an eye to expansion. Several walls were being built as early as the 7th century BC; these, later joined together and made bigger and stronger, are collectively referred to as the Great Wall. Especially famous is the wall built in 220–206 BC by Qin Shi Huang, the first Emperor of China. Little of that wall remains. The Great Wall has been rebuilt, maintained, and enhanced over various dynasties; the majority of the existing wall is from the Ming Dynasty (1368–1644)."

KOREA - Ewha Womans University

The school first apperance in 1887.  It is also look like Korean traditional house.

"Ewha Womans University (Hangul: 이화여자대학교; Hanja: 梨花女子大學校) is a private women's university in Seoul, South Korea founded in 1886 by Mary F. Scranton under Emperor Gojong. It is currently the world's largest female educational institute and is one of the most prestigious universities in South Korea. 

While the lack of an apostrophe in "Womans University" is unconventional, the use of "Woman's" rather than "Women's" was normal in the past.

Τhe use of "Womans" carries special meaning. The early founders of the college thought that every woman is to be respected; to promote this idea, they chose the word "woman" to avoid lumping students together under the word "women."

CZECH REPUBLIC - Zamek Lednice/Palace

In 1996 it was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List (together with the twin manor of Valtice) as "an exceptional example of the designed landscape that evolved in the Enlightenment and afterwards under the care of a single family." It contains a palace and the largest park in the country, which covers 200 km²."

KOREA - Mt. Mai

"Mt. Maisan Provincial Park is located in Jinan-gun, Jeollabuk-do. During the Silla Dynasty, it was called Seodasan, during the Goryo Dynasty, Yongchulsan, and finally named Maisan during the Joseon Dynasty. Maisan is called by different names depending on the season. In the spring, it is called Dotdaebong, in the summer, Yonggakbong, in the fall, Maibong, and in the winter, Munpilbong.

There is a myth tha has been passed down through the generations regarding Mt. Maisan. Two gods came down from the sky, had a child and lived on earth for a while, but as they were going back up into the sky, a village woman saw them ascending, and had to be trapped on earth and became the rock mountain. Even today, you can see the father peak and the child peak, and the mother peak on the other side. The pagodas atop of Mt. Maisan were built from native rocks and top of these towers look as sharp as nails. On the south side of the mountain, it is said there were over 120 of these pagodas, but only about 80 exist today. There is also something very mysterious about these pagodas. No matter how bad the weather, even during storms, they somehow do not sway or fall. Another interesting thing about Mt. Maisan are the icicles. If you put water into a bowl during the winter, the water freezes into a pole reaching for the sky. No one knows why or how this happens, but it makes Maisan just that much more mysterious and interesting to visit." Source

CZECH REPUBLIC - Kromeriz

Gardens and Chateau in Kromeriz were written on UNESCO World Heritage in 1998.  Thanks to Yvette for the card.

"Kroměříž is a Moravian town in the Zlin Region of the Czech Republic. The town's main landmark is the Baroque Kroměříž Bishop's Palace, where some scenes from Amadeus and Immortal Beloved were filmed. The Gardens and Castle at Kroměříž were added to the list of World Heritage Sites in 1998."

CZECH REPUBLIC - Hazmburk

The ruins of Házmburk Castle are a typical and unmistakable dominant feature on the Czech landscape. The view from the isolated hill of the landscape of the Central Bohemian Uplands is unforgettable.

PENNSYLVANIA - Harrisburg

 Harrisburg first gained importance as a center for riverboat traffic in colonial as days.  The capital's location was largely chosen because of Harrisburg's practical access to the Susquehanna River's shoreline.  The city played a significant role during the days of the canal system.  Today, it remains an important center of railways, highway and airplane traffic.  Thanks to Amy for the card.
