"Aotearoa  is the Māori name for New Zealand. It is often mispronounced /aʊtiəˈroʊ.ə/ (About this sound listen) by English speakers, and its use is becoming widespread in the bilingual names of national organisations and institutions. The term was originally used by Māori in reference to only the North Island. Since the 1990s, it has been customary to sing New Zealand's national anthem, "God Defend New Zealand", in both Māori and English, exposing the name to a wider audience."

NEW ZEALAND - Tram, Cathedral Square

"Cathedral Square, locally known simply as the Square, is the geographical centre and heart of Christchurch, New Zealand, where the city's Anglican cathedral, ChristChurch Cathedral is located. The square stands at the theoretical crossing of the city's two main orthogonal streets, Colombo Street and Worcester Street, though in practice both have been either blocked off or detoured around the square itself. The Cathedral has been badly damaged in the February 2011 Christchurch earthquake."

NEW ZEALAND - Victoria Square, Churchurch

"The Cook Statue in Victoria Square, Christchurch, commemorates the three journeys of James Cook to New Zealand. The statue, sculpted by William Trethewey, was unveiled on 10 August 1932 by the Governor-General, Lord Bledisloe."

At the rear, Aoraki/Mt Cook, New Zealand's highest peak (3754m) dominates the scene, with Torres Peak (3060m) in the left foreground and Mt Hicks in the centre.

NEW ZEALAND - Maori Haka

The Maori, who had a close kinship with their environment, wove tales and legends around gods who represented certain spheres, such as the forest, sea and war. Although these gods are not so feared today, they are still called upon and remembered through song, dance and haka.

NEW ZEALAND - Lake Wanaka

"Lake Wanaka lies at the heart of the Otago Lakes in the lower South Island of New Zealand. The township is situated in a glacier carved basin on the shores of the lake and is the gateway to Mt Aspiring National Park."

This card arrived with a very nice stamps '100 Years of Tourism" issued by the New Zealand Post and  stamp from the Royal Visit 2014 issued.

Now perceived as a traditional Maori costume, the piupiu, with its colourful bodice and headbands, is crafted in native flax.  Here a wahine, or Maori woman, proudly displays her costume, in the land her people named Aotearoa - the land of the long white cloud - New Zealand.  Thank you Calico.
