At last, a card from Papua New Guinea.  Papua New Guinea comes as country no #163.

Rabaul - East New Britain Province.  Rust-away World War II relics, Kokopo Museum.  Thanks to my boss for sending this card from his travel.

PAPUA NEW GUINEA - Goroka

Goroka - Eastern Highlands Province. Asaro Mudmen. Thanks to my boss for sending this card from his business trip.

"The Asaro Mudmen come from just outside the village of Goroka in the Eastern Highlands Province of Papua New Guinea.

The mudmen could not cover their faces because legends say that the people of Papua New Guinea thought that the mud from the Asaro river was poisonous. So instead of covering their faces with this alleged poison, they made masks from pebbles that they heated and water from the waterfall."
