HONDURAS - The Ruins of Copan

The second card Cesar sent is COPAN, Honduras.  Mayan Ruins of Copan is one of UNESCO site.  It is located near the border with Guatemala.The archaeological perk is a witness of Mayan greatest pyramids.  Sculptures, tunnels, museum are part of the sites to visit within the park.

At the nearby town, may good food, thermal hot water, bird park and a beautiful landscape makes it a paradise, Cesar wrote.  Thank you for the great card Cesar!

AUSTRIA - St Stephen's Catheral, Vienna

This card shows St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna.  It was built in 1147 and later adapted (between 1230-1245).  It was further adapted in the following centuries and partly destroyed in 1683 by Turkish commodious and during WWII by bombs and fire.  It's constantly being renovated up until today.  Thank you Nina for the great information about the card and beautiful stamp.

My first written and stamps card from Bangladesh, it was actually a piece of card with my address and stamps but I am all happy to get this.  Thank you Limon for helping me with my postcard collection.

I have received quite a few cards from Bangladesh but all was a blank cards.  So I would take this is my first written card from Bangladesh.

NICARAGUA - Cathedral Of Granada

A new country arrived in my mailbox today, postcard from country #121 is Nicaragua.  Thank you Mano for this wonderful card.

"The Our Lady of the Assumption Cathedral (Spanish: Catedral de Nuestra Señora de la Asunción) also called Granada Cathedral is a neoclassical Catholic cathedral located in Granada, Nicaragua, roughly 25 miles southeast of Managua. The church is the main temple of the Diocese of Granada, and its bishop is Jorge Solórzano Pérez. 

The first cathedral temple was built around 1525 with tapicel and rafaz stone, brick, lime and straw roof. By 1578, the church had already been burned twice. Seven years later, in 1585, it started to become known colloquially as "La Iglesia Bonita," or "The Beautiful Church." The second temple was completed in about 1751 with lime, stone, and brick. 

In 1916, the iron frame intended for the central dome was brought from the United States, only three years after the Diocese of Granada was created by the Roman Catholic Church. The cathedral as it stands today was completed in its entirety in 1972, with a total area of 3,614.87 m²."

TUNISIA - Old Town of Tataouine

Rached sent me this card of old town of Tataouine with the Berber architecture.

"Tataouine (Arabic: تطاوين‎ Taṭāwīn), also transliterated as Tatooine, Tatahouine, Tatahouïne, Tatawin, Fum Taţāwīn, Fumm Tattauin, Foum Tatahouine, Fum Tatawin, or Foum Tataouine, from the Berber Tittawin, literally meaning Eyes, with the figurative meaning of Water springs (see Moroccan city of Tetouan), is a city located in southern Tunisia. It is the capital of the Tataouine Governorate. The below ground, "cave dwellings" of the native Berber population, designed for coolness and protection, render the city and the area around it a tourist and film makers attraction."

HAWAII - Hula Dance

A swap with Trisha from Hawaii.  Thank you for the wonderful card and stamps.

In her card Trisha wrote that hula dance is a very popular part of Hawaiian culture.  It was once performed only for the alii (royalty)  but is now common for all.  Although it doesn't say, she guessing these children are about to dance at a Lei Day (May Day) performance.

Historic LalBag Fort Mosque, Dhaka

"Lalbagh Fort (also Fort Aurangabad) is an incomplete 17th century Mughal fort complex that stands proudly before the Buriganga River in the southwestern part of Dhaka, Bangladesh.[1] The construction was started in 1678 AD by Mughal Subahdar Muhammad Azam Shah who was son of Emperor Aurangzeb and later emperor himself. His successor, Shaista Khan, did not continue the work, though he stayed in Dhaka up to 1688." WIKI

Jamuna Bridge, Sirajgonj

"Bangabandhu Bridge, commonly called the Jamuna Multi-purpose Bridge (Bengali: যমুনা বহুমুখী সেতু Jomuna Bohumukhi Shetu) is a bridge opened in Bangladesh in June 1998. It connects Bhuapur on the Jamuna River's east bank to Sirajganj on its west bank. It was the 11th longest bridge in the world when constructed in 1998[1] and currently the 6th longest bridge in South Asia. It was constructed over the Jamuna River, one of the three major rivers of Bangladesh, and fifth largest in the world in discharge volume. The bridge established a strategic link between the eastern and western parts of Bangladesh. It generates multifarious benefits for the people and, especially, promotes inter-regional trade in the country." WIKI

CUBA - Havana

Anet of Cuba sent this postcard. She told in her card that she live in Old Havana. And it was the first town founded by the seashore on Havana.Many of its streets are cobbled adn there are buildings of hte XVI and XVII centuries.

The third card that I sent to myself.  The card read: The evening open-air restaurants - a common dinner time scene in Malaysia.

PAHANG - Lake Chini

Another card that I send to myself. The card reads; Lake Chini in Pahang is the home of a legendary mythical dragon reputed to inhabit the calm waters of this beautiful series of lakes.

"Tasik Chini is a lake near the Pahang River in central Pahang, Malaysia. The lakeshores are inhabited by the Jakun branch of the Orang Asli. The 12,565 acres (5,026 hectares) Tasik Chini is the second largest fresh water lake in Malaysia and is made up of a series of 12 lakes. Chini River, which drains from the lake, flows into Pahang River. The river is dammed to maintain the lake's depth during the dry season. However, this has disrupted the natural ecology of the lake and caused the death of trees on its shores due to elevated water level. Tasik Chini is one of the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve status site in Malaysia with the other is Crocker Range in Malaysian Borneo." WIKI

MALAYSIA - The Making of Roti Chanai

I found this card in a bookstore near my house, this card is a bit old and I do not think is available anymore, so I mail this card to myself.  I mail it on 31 December and it arrives on 2 January 2015.

The card reads; The making of Roti Canai (a thin and folded pancake) - one of the favorite Malaysian breakfast.

NETHERLANDS - Lighthouse/Vuurtoren ' Lange Jaap"

At a height of 182 feet (55 m) it is one of the tallest "traditional lighthouse" in the world. ISLE OF MAN - Multiview: Ramsey

"Ramsey  is a town in the north of the Isle of Man. It is the second largest town on the island after Douglas. Its population is 7,309 according to the 2006 census (7,322, 2001 census). It has one of the biggest harbours on the island, and has a prominent derelict pier, called the Queen's Pier. It was formerly one of the main points of communication with Scotland. Ramsey has also been a route for several invasions by Vikings and Scots.

Ramsey is also known as 'Royal Ramsey' due to royal visits from Queen Victoria and Prince Albert in 1847 followed by King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra in 1907."
