LAOS - Wat Phu Champasak
Country #124 is from Laos, thank you Vongketh for my first card from Laos.
"Vat Phou or Wat Phu (Lao: ວັດພູ [wāt pʰúː] temple-mountain) is a ruined Khmer Hindu temple complex in southern Laos. It is located at the base of mount Phu Kao, some 6 km from the Mekong river in Champasak province. There was a temple on the site as early as the 5th century, but the surviving structures date from the 11th to 13th centuries. The temple has a unique structure, in which the elements lead to a shrine where a linga dedicated to Lord Shiva was bathed in water from a mountain spring. The site later became a centre of Theravada Buddhist worship, which it remains today.
Laos, is a landlocked country in Southeast Asia, bordered by Burma and the People's Republic of China to the northwest, Vietnam to the east, Cambodia to the south, and Thailand to the west."

RUSSIA - The Olkhon Island, Lake Baikal
"Olkhon (Russian: Ольхо́н, also transliterated as Olchon) is the fourth-largest lake-bound island in the world. It is by far the largest island in Lake Baikal in eastern Siberia, with an area of 730 square kilometres. Structurally, it acts as the southwestern margin of Academician Ridge. The island measures 71.5 km in length and 20.8 km in width."

ALGERIA - Djelfa
"Djelfa (Arabic: الجلفة) is the capital city of Djelfa province, Algeria. It is a pleasant medium-size city, north-central Algeria, in the Ouled Nail Mountains at an elevation of 3,734 feet . It is situated between the towns of Bou Saâda and Laghouat. Djelfa town is at a point of transition between the dry, steppelike High Plateaus of the north, with their chotts (intermittent salt lakes), and the Sahara (south). The town was founded in 1852 as a French military post on a geometric plan. It serves as an important livestock market centre for the seminomadic Ouled Nail confederation. Djelfa is on the 12,000 mile Africa Trail."

KAZAN - Cathedral of Apostles Peter and Paul
This card shows the Cathedral of Apostles Peter and Paul in Kazan. the outside decoration of this Cathedral is really stunning. Thank you Svetlana for the great swap.
"Saints Peter and Paul Cathedral (Petropavlovsky Cathedral, Russian: Петропавловский собор) is a Russian Orthodox church in Kazan (Tatarstan). It's one of the most famous churches in Naryshkin Baroque.
The temple is consecrated in honour of heavenly Tsar Peter I of Russia patron.
Saints Peter and Paul Cathedral is built in 1722. Constructing were operated merchant Ivan Afanasievich Mikhlyaev the head imperial factories in Kazan. Most likely, oriental-like cathedral and its bell tower were constructed by in common Moscow and Kazan masters." WIKI
CZECH REPUBLIC - Prague Bridge
This card from Praha Czech Republic came to my mailbox today. From official Postcrossing, it was sent on 27 October 2014 and was missent to Thailand. This is my first time receiving a missent card, I am so excited about this. Martina in her card wrote about this card and how beautiful the warm sunlight suits the town very well.

I was extremely excited to receive this beautiful stamp of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, from the Czech Republic, issued in 2011. I find the design especially beautiful - not just a simple portrait or profile, but instead an active image of this vibrant personality in motion, conducting, superimposed over an image of the original score to Don Giovanni. It even illustrates what a clothing dandy Mozart was, with the fine frock and lacy cuffs and the Prague's Estates Theatre in the background. Such an art!
CHINA - Tajiks in China
This postcard shows the Tajiks ethnic in China, thank you Sumei for this wonderful swap.
The card reads : Most of the Tajiks live in compact communities in Taxkorgan Tajik Autonomous County and the rest are scattered over areas in southwest Xinjiang, including Shache, Zepu, Yecheng and Pishan along western Tarim Basin. According to the fifth national census in 2000, the Tajik numbered 41,028.
"Tajiks are a Persian-speaking Muslim group that lives in Western China around the snowcapped Pamirs, a mountain range shared with Tajikistan and Afghanistan. Related to ethnic groups in Afghanistan and Iran, the Tajiks are perhaps the most non-Chinese-looking people in China. They have copper-colored skin, round eyes and Caucasian features and some have blue eyes, freckles and red hair. Some believe they are descendants of subjects of Alexander the Great. Tajik in an Indo-European language closely related to Persian. The Chinese refer to the Pamirs as the "roof of the world" and many of the people that live here have little contact with the outside world.
The Tajik live mainly in the Tajik autonomous county—Tashkurgan (Taxkorgan) Tajik Autonomous County in Xinjiang— in the southwestern part of Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region. This is near the borders of Tajikistan, Pakistan and Afghanistan. A small number of them are scattered in Shache, Zepu, Yecheng, Pishan and other border regions in the western part of the Tarim Basin. CHINA - Mongolian Ethinic
The second card from Sumei is Mongolia ethnicity.
The card reads: The Mongols live mostly int he Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, adn in Mongolian autonomous prefectures and counties in Xinjiang, Qinghai, Gansu, Heilongjiang, Jilin, Liaoning provinces, etc. the rest reside in Niinxia, Hebei, Sichuan and Yunnan provinces. According to the fifth national census in 2000, the Mongol numbered 5,813,947.
"With a total population of 5,813,947, the Mongolians live mainly in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Some are distributed in Xinjiang, Liaoning, Jilin, Heilongjiang, Gansu and Qinghai. There are also some scattered in Sichuan, Ningxia, Yunnan and Beijing.
Reputed as 'pearl in the grassland', the Mongolians have kept their nomadic living style for hundreds of years. 'Mongolian' originally was the name of one of the Mongolian tribes. HONDURAS - Santa Lucia, Near Tegucigalpa
A new country in my mailbox today. Country #122 is from Honduras. Thank you Cesar for the great cards and stamps.
Cesar wrote in his card that Santa Lucia is a former mining center located a few kilometers away from capital city Tegucigalpa. It is also called the city of flower, a beautiful lagoon at the entrance of the city makes it a very special place to take a walk.
