SPAIN - La Adrada (Avila), General Monasterio Square and Town Hall

"Ávila is a Spanish town located in the autonomous community of Castile and León, and is the capital of the Province of Ávila. It is sometimes called the Town of Stones and Saints, and it claims that it is one of the towns with the highest number of Romanesque and Gothic churches (and bars and restaurants) per capita in Spain. (Zamora, a town of similar size, claims the greatest number of Romanesque churches in Europe.) It is notable for having complete and prominent medieval town walls, built in the Romanesque style. The town is also known as Ávila de los Caballeros, Ávila del Rey and Ávila de los Leales (Ávila of the Knights, the King and the Loyalists), each of these epithets being present in the town standard."

SPAIN - Santillana Del Mar

"Santillana del Mar is 30 km far from Santander and it is an “alive museum” of a medieval village developed around the “Santa Juliana” collegiate church, although most of the houses were built between the XIV century and the XVIII one. The whole Santillana can only be visited on foot."

LAOS - Wat Phu Champasak

Country #124 is from Laos, thank you Vongketh for my first card from Laos.

"Vat Phou or Wat Phu (Lao: ວັດພູ [wāt pʰúː] temple-mountain) is a ruined Khmer Hindu temple complex in southern Laos. It is located at the base of mount Phu Kao, some 6 km from the Mekong river in Champasak province. There was a temple on the site as early as the 5th century, but the surviving structures date from the 11th to 13th centuries. The temple has a unique structure, in which the elements lead to a shrine where a linga dedicated to Lord Shiva was bathed in water from a mountain spring. The site later became a centre of Theravada Buddhist worship, which it remains today.

RUSSIA - The Olkhon Island, Lake Baikal

"Olkhon (Russian: Ольхо́н, also transliterated as Olchon) is the fourth-largest lake-bound island in the world. It is by far the largest island in Lake Baikal in eastern Siberia, with an area of 730 square kilometres. Structurally, it acts as the southwestern margin of Academician Ridge. The island measures 71.5 km in length and 20.8 km in width."

ALGERIA - Djelfa

"Djelfa (Arabic: الجلفة‎) is the capital city of Djelfa province, Algeria. It is a pleasant medium-size city, north-central Algeria, in the Ouled Nail Mountains at an elevation of 3,734 feet . It is situated between the towns of Bou Saâda and Laghouat. Djelfa town is at a point of transition between the dry, steppelike High Plateaus of the north, with their chotts (intermittent salt lakes), and the Sahara (south). The town was founded in 1852 as a French military post on a geometric plan. It serves as an important livestock market centre for the seminomadic Ouled Nail confederation. Djelfa is on the 12,000 mile Africa Trail."
