MALAYSIA - North Borneo Steam Train

The North Borneo Railway was established on 1st August 1914.  The railway consists of a single 134km line from town of Tanjung Aru to the town of Tenom.  By 1971, diesel and petrol-powered locomotives replaced the steam engines.  The romance of an old steam train was relaunched as a joint venture project between Sutera Harbour Resort and the Sabah State Railway on 23 January 2000.

Thanks to Janet for the card.
