TAIWAN Maxicard - "Yellow "Prickly Roses and Peonies"

Beautiful maxicard from Clark.  He wrote " This picture was drawn by Italian painter - Lang Shining.  He love Chinese culture, so he went to China in 1715.  Worked for Emperor Kang'Xi.  In 1766, he died in Beijing Aged 77."  Such an interesting story to know.

"Giuseppe Castiglione, S.J. (simplified Chinese: 郎世宁; traditional Chinese: 郎世寧; pinyin: Lángshìníng) (19 July 1688 – 17 July 1766), was an Italian Jesuit brother and a missionary in China, where he served as an artist at the imperial court of three emperors – the Kangxi, Yongzheng and Qianlong emperors. He painted in a style that is a fusion of European and Chinese traditions."
