OREGON - Crater Lake

Crater Lake, was named after the small crater at the top of Wizard Island.  Wizard Island is a cinder cone in the lake that rises 760 feet above the water.


"Crater Lake is a caldera lake in the western United States, located in south-central Oregon. It is the main feature of Crater Lake National Park and is famous for its deep blue color and water clarity. Crater Lake is located in Klamath County, approximately 60 miles (97 km) northwest of the county seat of Klamath Falls, and about 80 miles (130 km) northeast of the city of Medford."
