SURINAME - The SIV Mosque and the Monument: Neve Shalom Synagogue

Thank you Shania for my first card from Suriname.

"The Mosque Keizerstraat is the headquarters of the Lahore Ahmadiyya Movement for the Propagation of Islam in Paramaribo in Suriname, located in the Keizerstraat, adjacent to the Neveh Shalom Synagogue.  The Muslim community of Paramaribo was established in 1929. Its first mosque, a wooden rectangular building with minarets, was completed in 1932. The current mosque was completed in 1984.

"Suriname, officially known as the Republic of Suriname , is a country on the northeastern Atlantic coast of South America. It is bordered by French Guiana to the east, Guyana to the west and Brazil to the south. Suriname was colonized by the British and the Dutch in the 17th century." WIKI
